Welcome to the 2014 subscription year – we are certainly in for some extraordinary and wonderful music!
At the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra we are immensely proud of our achievements. Since the Orchestra’s establishment in 1989 these have included scores of sell out concerts to enthusiastic audiences, international tours, adventurous artistic collaborations, sixteen recordings, consistently good reviews and five ARIA awards for the Best Classical Album in Australia.
We have introduced Australian audiences to brilliant soloists and guest artists of international renown, as well as to the rising stars of baroque music in Australia, many of whom play with us on a frequent basis. The Brandenburg Choir is without doubt one of the finest vocal groups in the country, performing regularly in Sydney, and in late 2012 made its debut in Melbourne.
Our subscribers have of course been part of our continuing success, and we thank you all for your enthusiasm and support of our concert series. Over the last ten years we have been having regular conversations with our audiences. When we recently asked everyone to name some of their favourite things about the Brandenburg, we were delighted by the response! With their permission, we have shared with you some of the comments from our Melbourne and Sydney audience members in this beautiful brochure. I’m sure many of their words will resonate with you.
In addition to our audiences, the generous and heartfelt financial contributions we receive from our many donors are a vital part of both our present and our future. Our donors are an integral part of the Brandenburg family, ensuring that the success of this very special orchestra will continue long into the future. We are enormously grateful for these strong expressions of support which allow us to continue gathering together Australia’s finest baroque specialists from all over our country, as well as acclaimed guest artists from all over the world.
